One of the NFL’s best offenses today left Tom Brady wanting to lace up his cleats and put on his helmet under their banner.
Brady was on commentator duty for Fox on Sunday during the Detroit Lions-Dallas Cowboys game at AT&T Stadium. It did not take long for the seven-time Super Bowl winner to shock fans with a comment.
Just before halftime, his broadcast partner Kevin Burkhardt asked Brady: ‘You played on great offenses, but how much fun would you have had playing on this offense?’
The legendary quarterback then gushed over the Detroit offense, saying: ‘I’d love to be the quarterback of this offense, it’s just so much fun.
‘When I look at this offense, it reminds me of what great offense should be in the NFL,’ he added.
Dan Campbell’s team headed into Sunday’s game with a 3-1 record while playing some of the most entertaining brand of football. Jared Goff and Co. held a 27-6 lead at the intermission.
With the Lions’ recent resurgence, fans took to social media to express their shock over Brady’s remarks.
‘Can’t say I had that on my bingo card,’ one fan wrote.
‘I never thought I’d hear Tom Brady say that he’d want to be the quarterback for the Detroit Lions,’ a second added.
‘Never in a million years did I ever think I’d hear Tom Brady say he would love to play QB in the Detroit Lions offense lol,’ a third chimed in.
‘Tom Brady wants to be a lion my god,’ a fourth exclaimed while a fifth added ‘couldn’t believe my ears.’
The Lions took the NFL by storm yesterday when they made their first playoff appearance since 2016. They breezed past the Rams and the Buccaneers in the first two rounds before losing to the 49ers in the NFC Championship game.
Detroit entered the fourth quarter against the Cowboys with a comfortable 40-9 lead as they look for their third straight win.
