Top RAW Star Targets Cody Rhodes, Calls Him a ‘Dream Opponent’

The WWE Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes has a target on his back. He has been the face of the company, with several stars lining up to take the title from him.

Cody became the Undisputed WWE Champion at WrestleMania XL as he ended Roman Reigns’ historic run with the title. The American Nightmare finally finished his story, becoming the first member of his family to win the prestigious title.

During an exclusive interview with India Today, WWE star “Big” Bronson Reed mentioned that he was targeting some of the major stars in the company. He claimed that facing Cody Rhodes for the title would be a dream encounter. The Aussie Superstar also named Gunther and Damian Priest as some of the opponents he would like to go against on the red brand.

“I’m always looking at the main-event players. Right now, I’m focused on Seth, but after him, if I’m still on Monday Night RAW, I’d love to face guys like Gunther or Damian Priest, the big names I haven’t worked with yet. And if I move to SmackDown, Cody Rhodes as WWE Champion would be a dream opponent.” (H/T India Today)

While a match with Bronson Reed may be on the horizon, The American Nightmare right now has to deal with the threat of Gunther.

Cody is set to face The Ring General in a champion vs. champion match for the Crown Jewel Championship. The two stars had a confrontation this week on SmackDown. After a brief exchange, Cody started throwing hands at the World Heavyweight Champion.

Ludwig Kaiser came out to gang up on Rhodes, leading to a two-on-one beatdown. However, Randy Orton also rushed down to the ring to help Cody, leading to the Imperium members scurrying away.

It will be interesting to see which champion can call himself the Crown Jewel Champion at the end of the mega event in Saudi Arabia this year.
