Travis Kelce has been Taylor Swift’s number one cheerleader ever since the pair began dating last autumn, with the NFL star regularly spotted singing and dancing along at her Eras tour concerts. At Sunday night’s show in London’s Wembley Stadium, everyone’s favourite internet boyfriend took things one step further, by joining his megastar girlfriend on stage.
During the transition between “The Smallest Man that Ever Lived” and “I Can Do It with a Broken Heart” (both from Swift’s latest album, The Tortured Poets Department), Kelce took to the stage in a top hat and tails to help Swift with her costume change, which saw her switching from a white Vivienne Westwood gown to a crystal-embellished two-piece. Clearly in his element, the American footballer performed the choreography down to a tee, at one point carrying his girlfriend across the stage, before helping her touch up her make-up.
It’s been a starry weekend at the first London leg of the Eras tour (Swift will be returning to Wembley with five more dates in August), with Kelce proving to be a big hit with the A-listers. On Friday night, Prince William was seen dancing enthusiastically to “Shake it Off” as he celebrated his 42nd birthday with his two eldest children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte. The royals later went backstage and took a selfie with both Swift and Kelce (which incidentally, the pop star used to hard launch her relationship on Instagram).
At the second London show on Saturday night, Tom Cruise, Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis, Greta Gerwig and Rachel Zegler were among the stars partying in the VIP tent, alongside Hugh Grant, who later tweeted: “Dear @taylorswift13, You have an incredible show, an amazing and v hospitable team and excellent if gigantic boyfriend (#tequilashots). Thanks so much from one ageing London boy, wife and thrilled 8 year old.”
