After a strong rookie season with the Golden State Warriors, Brandin Podziemski will enter his sophomore year with increased expectations on his shoulders. The 19th pick in the 2023 NBA draft played 74 games for Golden State during his rookie year, with 28 of them coming as a starter. His performances, both during games and in practice, earned him high praise from both Steph Curry and Draymond Green thoughout the season.
Now, with Klay Thompson opting to team up with the Dallas Mavericks this summer, Podziemski could find himself fighting for a starting spot alongside Curry for the upcoming campaign. Of course, he will face competition from Buddy Hield and Moses Moody, who will both be looking to earn significant minutes within Steve Kerr’s rotation.
During a recent YouTube video from “Swish Culture” the host explains why Podziemski is likely to have a major role for the Warriors moving forward. He notes how the sophomore guard was held out of trade talks throughout the summer, and has quickly emerged as a potential franchise cornerstone for the post-Curry era.
