Maria Sharapova’s Memorable Encounter with Manchester United Legend David Beckham

Former Russian tennis star Maria Sharapova recently took to social media and uploaded a series of pictures from an event organised by Stella Artois for supporting Water, which is a non-profit organisation. At the event, the likes of David Beckham and Ludacris were also invited.

Stella Artois is also the official beer partner of the Wimbledon Championships and the official supplier of Roland Garros. Invited at the event, the five-time Grand Slam champion uploaded pictures alongside the English football legend on her Instagram account.

In the caption, she thanked Stella Artois for hosting the event. Similarly, the former Manchester United midfielder also shared a series of pictures on his Instagram account, where he also tagged Sharapova.

Meanwhile, Maria Sharapova topped the fan vote round for induction to the International Tennis Hall of Fame. However, induction into the Hall of Fame is a lengthy process, which includes seven steps. Interestingly, tennis journalist Jon Wertheim has stated that she might have some troubles due to her controversial past.

In 2016, the former Russian tennis star was found positive for the usage of meldonium. As a result, she was banned from professional tennis for 15 months. He wrote, “Without condoning PED use, in some cases—this being one of them—it should not be disqualifying for Hall of Fame eligibility.”
