Kraft was magnificent as the Packers beat the LA Rams 24-19. He had four receptions for 88 yards, scoring two touchdowns in the process as his team moved to 2-2 for the season.
Despite being six-foot-five and 259 pounds, Kraft hit a top speed of 19.70mph when he ran 66 yards for one of his touchdowns.
It inevitably sparked comparisons to none other than Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce – with some fans saying that Kraft has proven he is better than the three-time Super Bowl winner.
‘Tucker Kraft > Travis Kelce,’ wrote one fan on X. ‘Not even a debate,’
Another said: ‘Tucker Kraft is the new Travis Kelce.’
Other fans were quick to herald Kraft as the best in the league for his position, with one saying: ‘Tucker Kraft is the best TE in football. Don’t @ me.’
A different fan said: ‘I’m not saying Tucker Kraft is the best TE in the NFL. Oh wait, actually that’s exactly what I’m saying.’
While Kraft, 23, is enjoying a burgeoning reputation Kelce heads into Monday night’s Chiefs game against New Orleans Saints looking to continue his tentative resurgence in form.
After struggling through the first three Chiefs games, Kelce recorded seven catches for 89 yards as his team won 17-10. Despite Kelce yet to find fifth gear, the Chiefs are 4-0 ahead of Monday’s game.
Kelce, who turned 35 on Saturday, refuted claims earlier this week that the Chargers display was him back to his best.
He said to his older brother Jason on their New Heights podcast: ‘Everything outside of the building is just noise… (but) big game? When is 89 yards a big game? It was a solid game, a big game is like I score a touchdown or something.
‘I was accountable this game, I didn’t have any drops, which was what happened in Atlanta to make me feel like I had a bad game.
‘I still didn’t have an outstanding game, there’s a lot that goes into having a great game but I did have seven catches which is, a lot of times you get the rock and I got north with it, so, it is what it is.
‘I helped my team find a way to win, and that is all that will ever matter.’
