— Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson made a brief, yet impactful, return at WWE Bad Blood last month, seemingly setting the stage to a return to storylines at some point and a possible match at WrestleMania 41 next year. However, soon after that, a report out of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter indicated that The Rock already let WWE officials know that he wouldn’t be able to compete at WrestleMania, leaving many wondering what direction the company would be going in over the next six months.
— The Rock responded to those reports by saying “don’t listen to that bullsh*t” and fightfulselect.com reports that WWE sources have stated that WWE as a company is a priority for the Rock and he has made it clear that he’s part of the “family” and will appear here and there, whenever he is able to make it work with his schedule.
— While The Rock’s forthcoming schedule is unknown, sources were hopeful that he would be appearing at the first WWE Monday Night Raw on Netflix in July and while not confirmed, there is an internal buzz that it will happen. In regards to his status for WrestleMania, fightfulselect.com reported that no WWE sources even knew where the story of him missing WrestleMania originated from as they had no heard anything at all about his participation, either way.
— One source commented that it’s difficult to predict what the Rock is going to do with WrestleMania still six months away because he’s when it comes down to it, he will pretty much do what he wants to do even if it means showing up on a show very soon before it is to take place. In fact, the Rock’s appearance at Bad Blood wasn’t even locked in until a few days before the show. While the possibility of him showing up became a reality as the event drew nearer and ultimately led to Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes teaming up, actual confirmation didn’t happen until the week of Bad Blood.
