When The Wyatt Sicks made their WWE debut on Raw a few months ago, laying waste to everyone backstage, it was arguably the most talked about moment of the year. Unfortunately, it didn’t lead to the faction taking over WWE or causing mayhem everywhere, but a rather standard feud with Chad Gable. Still, it was a fun one, giving us matches between the Wyatt Sicks and American Made and Uncle Howdy vs. Chad Gable. The Wyatt Sicks came out on top with huge fan support behind them, but now they haven’t been seen on TV for a month, as they’ve been forgotten outside the usual creepy imagery. You could sadly predict this was going to happen. If WWE doesn’t fix it soon, the Wyatt Sicks will be forgotten.
WWE dropped a few hints on this week’s episode of Raw about who The Wyatt Sicks might target next!
WWE Was Using The Wyatt Sicks Effectively On Raw
Fans Were Solidly Behind Uncle Howdy And The Wyatt Sicks
After such a shocking debut for The Wyatt Sicks on Raw, it felt like anything was possible. Perhaps it was too much to ask for them to be the focal point of the whole show, taking over like some creepy version of the nWo, but what WWE creative gave us was pretty good. We didn’t see them a lot at first, but we were at least hearing from them every week, either through Nikki Cross showing up to deliver videotapes, or through those videotapes being played, which kept introducing us to members of the Wyatt Sicks.
That created the build needed for them to finally arrive and do something in the ring. Fans loved seeing the Wyatt Sicks take off their masks and wrestle American Made. It was emotional seeing Uncle Howdy get in the ring against Chad Gable, and it was one of the better Raw matches of the year when the two groups had their street fight on the September 9 Raw. The Wyatt Sicks were spooky, but WWE held back on the supernatural gimmick that limited Bray Wyatt in the past. Everything was going right, but the Wyatt Sicks haven’t been seen in WWE since.
We take a deeper look at the figures who are part of The Wyatt Sicks and who carry on Bray’s legacy.
The Wyatt Sicks Have Been Absent For Weeks
There Are Clues That The Miz Is The Next Target For The Wyatt Sicks
As good as things were going for the Wyatt Sicks on Raw, there were signs that things could have been better. For one, they were not part of SummerSlam. They weren’t part of Bad Blood either. In the lead up to that PLE, they actually weren’t part of anything, except for the same old creepy imagery in the background, such as when their symbol was seen behind GM Nick Aldis on SmackDown, or the usual creepy QR codes. Those were fun little details in the beginning that no one else got, but the Wyatt Sicks have to be more than images and tricks to succeed.
It looks like the Wyatt Sicks’ WWE return might finally be near. During a Raw segment with The Miz and Karrion Kross, the words “There you are” briefly appeared on-screen. That was later tweeted out by The Wyatt Sicks, along with an image that said “Gal 6:3” and “we warned you.”
“Gal 6:3” refers to the Bible version from Galatians 6:3, which reads:
“If anyone thinks they are something when they are not, they deceive themselves.”
Uncle Howdy and the Wyatt Sicks had a wild debut, but it’s more of the same from WWE ever since.
Are The Wyatt Sicks Running In Place Until Alexa Bliss Returns?
It looks like maybe the Wyatt Sicks could return next Monday to target the Miz in his match with his former tag team partner. You can imagine The Miz and Karrion Kross’ Final Testament jumping Truth only for Uncle Howdy and his family of freaks to make the save. That’ll get a good pop, but then what?
Having the Wyatt Sicks absent for a month has caused them to lose some of their luster. They should be an integral part of Raw, but instead are portrayed as if they’re not important enough to get booked. That might be even worse now that Raw has moved from three to two hours. Meanwhile, Chad Gable and American Made are just fine, so what purpose does the Wyatt Sicks serve? And no offense to The Miz and Karrion Kross, but a feud with them doesn’t cause excitement. A storyline with two low midcarders just shows that the Wyatt Sicks are low midcarders as well.
The Wyatt Sicks need other factions to feud with, so a better call would have been The Judgment Day, who need to leave their drama with Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley behind already. Instead, look forward to the same spooky camera tricks and infrequent appearances, before the Wyatt Sicks beats the lowly Final Testament and disappears again. WWE needs to show that the group matters. The speculation of an Alexa Bliss return could do wonders for them, as she was a major star unlike the rest of the group, but if she’s coming back, a PWInsider report says that it won’t be until 2025. The Wyatt Sicks can’t simply be booked to do the same old thing until she returns. They have to be more than a part-time tribute act to Bray Wyatt. Otherwise, by the time Bliss does come back, fans will have moved on.
