WWE NXT Superstar Reveals Why Roman Reigns, Not Cody Rhodes, Is Their Ultimate Dream Match!

A member of the WWE NXT roster has elaborated on why his ultimate match would be against Roman Reigns as opposed to Cody Rhodes.

At WrestleMania 40, Cody Rhodes did what so many were unable to do before him and defeated The Tribal Chief to become the new Undisputed Champion and the face of the company. Finishing the story and achieving his dream, Rhodes became the new benchmark in WWE and a high-priority match for just about the entire roster. However, despite the fact that The American Nightmare currently holds the top prize, Trick Williams would still choose Reigns if given the opportunity.

While speaking with Chris Van Vliet, the former NXT Champion was asked about his dream match and without hesitation said that it would be Reigns, adding that while he respects Rhodes, Reigns has been the top star for a number of years:

“Roman Reigns. I mean, he’s the top guy in the business right now. I mean, shout out to Cody Rhodes, who is amazing. I’m glad that he finished and started his new story. But Roman, he’s the guy who’s been the cornerstone of the business for a while now. So if you don’t want to match with him, then you don’t really want to be here.”

Trick Williams will challenge Ethan Page for the NXT Championship on the October 1st episode of NXT with CM Punk serving as the special guest referee.

Returning at SummerSlam, Reigns has targeted The Bloodline and will team up with Rhodes to take on Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu at Bad Blood. Ahead of the match, WWE has announced multiple Roman Reigns appearances for the coming months.
