Braun Strowman and Bronson Reed locked horns in a last Monster Standing match, while CM Punk and Drew McIntyre came face to face before meeting each other in a Hell in a Cell match. Monday night’s action got underway with the celebration of Jey Uso being crowned the Intercontinenal Champion. He defeated Bron Breakker who interrupted Uso’s segment not to threatened the newly crowned champ but to show respect to the Uce.
In the first match of the night, Xavier Woods defeated Rey Mysterio as the New Day takes a heel turn for the first time in a decade. Woods unmasked Mysterio and scored the pinfall to show the world he can go to any lengths for achieving his goals. Next up, Lyra Valkyria faced Zoey Stark.
Valkyria overcame the dangerous Stark, but Sonya Deville and Shayna Baszler helped Stark secure a win with her finisher Z-360 as the heels emerged victorious yet again.
Katana Chance and Kayden Carter came out to salvage Valkyria but it was too little too late already.
CM Punk and Drew McIntyre then came face to face exchanging threat to inflict pain on one another inside the steel cage. It was an intense promo, the perfect way to hype up the rivalry before this weekend.
Next, the Judgement Day (Dominik Mysterio, JD McDonagh, and Carlito) faced off against the LWO (Dragon Lee, Cruz Del Toro, and Joaquin Wilde).
It was an action packed match but the Judgement Day prevailed after a distraction from Liv Morgan allowed McDonagh to deliver Devil Inside for the victory. The terror-twins Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley attacked their former faction members but the numbers game was too much to counter and the Judgement Day stood tall yet again.
Kofi Kingston was also in action against Chad Gable, Xavier Woods turned against his own former teammate, helping Gable score the win.
Meanwhile, Sami Zayn was confirmed as the number 1 contender for Gunther’s World Heavyweight Championship after a beatdown from the title holder. Zayn got personal against the Ring general who finally agreed to the title shot.
The Awesome Truth were in action in the penultimate match of the night as The Miz betrayed his own teammate R-Truth allowing the Authors of Pain to inflict a brutal beatdown and secure an easy victory.
The main event saw Braun Strowman face “Big” Bronson Reed. Strowman delivered a chokeslam through the announce table, which Reed answered with a Death Valley Driver. It was carnage all over as the ring broke down but a cameo from Seth Rollins allowed Strowman to win after a stomp.
